Damage to Serbian Orthodox churches estimated at $30 mln
Belgrade, May 4, 2004 - Head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic said after a meeting with UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura that the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation will make a report by the end of May on the extent of damage to Serbian Orthodox churches in Kosovo-Metohija which were demolished during the outbreak of ethnic violence by Kosovo Albanians in March this year. | more »

UN experts to assess damage to Serbian cultural heritage
Belgrade, April 26, 2004 - Head of the UNESCO mission to Kosovo-Metohija Mari Paule Roudil said today that experts of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation will arrive to the province tomorrow to study the conditions of Serbian churches and monasteries that were destroyed during the last month's outbreak of violence of ethnic Albanian extremists. | more »

UNESCO mission to visit Belgrade, Pristina in late April

Monks return to Holy Archangels Monastery in Prizren
Belgrade, April 17, 2004 - Monks of the Holy Archangels Monastery (Sveti Arhangeli) in Prizren, which was burned by ethnic Albanian vandals during the latest outburst of violence in the province, returned yesterday to the monastery complex under the escort of KFOR soldiers. Albanian terrorists attack KFOR soldiers
April 8 – Ethnic-Albanian terrorists attacked KFOR soldiers in the village of Kuzmin yesterday as they were trying to arrest Isa Brijani, a member of the Kosovo police force suspected of involvement in the March 23 attack that killed one UNMIK policeman and one member of Kosovo police and wounded an English interpreter, the Serbian Ministry of Interior said. | more »
